When intelligent people talk, others listen. Well, at least the smart ones do. Despite their best efforts, the intelligent economists of our times are being overshadowed by a loud cacophony of noise (read TV).
The US mainstream media seems to specialize in distortion of facts and gross misrepresentation of the state of the economy. Whenever we read/listen to the news all we hear is how jobs are being created and the economy is growing. Nobody is talking about inflation, commodities, impending food shortage and real estate price corrections. Here are some websites/economists that are:
National Inflation Association: NIA is predicting a sovereign debt crisis in the US in 2012 and a collapse of the Dollar.
Zero Hedge: A group of writers do some digging and present some not-so-pleasant perspectives.
Silver and Gold Outlook: Don't let the title fool you - this site has a collection of interesting links and videos. And unlike the bums that run this blog, they are pretty active.
Seeking Alpha: A well managed traditional news site.
